Dianne
Ferguson
Dianne Ferguson is associate professor of music at Doane College and has taught piano, music theory, and music appreciation since 1977. In addition to her annual faculty recitals at Doane,
Ms. Ferguson
performs throughout the state. She has been a
soloist with the Lincoln Symphony, the Hastings
Symphony, and the University of Nebraska-Lincoln
Orchestra. Ferguson is a frequent performer of
works by women composers. In conjunction with
several Nebraska college professors, she has
performed in a recital featuring Vladimir
Horowitz's Steinway piano. In a concert celebrating
Doane's 125th year, she presented a program titled
"The Music of Nature," a performance of
programmatic piano works related to nature,
accompanied by slides of nature and wildlife by
nationally known photographer and Doane graduate,
Tom Mangelsen. Ms. Ferguson holds bachelor and
master's degrees from the University of
Nebraska-Lincoln. She has studied with pianists
Audun Ravnan, Harvey Hinshaw, and former University
of Colorado Professor of Piano Larry Graham.
